Is there any knowledge on the history of the wooden dummy?

Mostly colloquial and hard to verify... Frogular 03:20, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why does the article use the Mandarin name when the rest of the article refers to it by the Cantonese name or as a "Wing Chun wooden dummy?" Atypicaloracle (talk) 07:23, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And more: what's the pronunciation? Please, take some audio file to help us. Retornaire (talk) 15:08, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@ Atypicaloracle - because the whole world except north china uses the Cantonese, due to the history of emigration from Hong Kong and Wing Chun's roots in South China. Where as the political correctness of Wikipedia has clearly stepped in and said "everything Chinese should be titled in Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin)" irrespective of how the world knows it best.
